Honeymoon Dessert @ Vivo

After a hot day in Sentosa, icy cold dessert is the best solution in the world.
Photobucket
I have been wanting to try out the honeymoon dessert at vivo but it seem like there is forever a long q waiting outside. This time round, I am determine to find out why is there always a crowd there.

This is the durian pancake. The skin and filling is very soft. It's quite nice but not something I will q long timing for.

Photobucket
Photobucket
My favourite dessert of all time. Mango Pomelo & Sago Sweet Soup. It's totally not cold at all. I won't even call it a cold dessert. Will not go back and try this again if they are going to serve all their cold dessert at room temperature.

I can understand that they have a lot of customer. But a shop should never lower the quality of their food to compensate the quantity of customers. This does not help to attract return customers at all.

Photobucket
I can't remember the name of this dessert. It has kiwi, manago and glutinous rice ball contain in mango juice. This is actually much better than my dessert as they have throw in some ice cube into the manago juice, making the dessert slightly chill.

Photobucket
I have no idea how this shop manage to draw such a big crowd all this while if this is the kind of standard of food served. While, maybe it's just my luck but I doubt I will be going back there anytime soon.

BigBang Alive Concert 2012 in Singapore - 29 Sept 2012

Photobucket
Super excited for my first k-pop concert in my life!!!

The excitment started way back when the tickets was first released for sale for the 1st night concert. I still remember sitting in front of my computer, trying desperatly to get hold of the tickets on sistic website. Sad to say, I didn't make it. Tickets were all sold out within minutes.

Why am I writing this post if I didn't manage to get the tickets? The good news is they are adding an addition night on 29 Sept 2012.

The whole cycle started again on the next day, fighting for the tickets online. Well, I am just not good at these sort of things. But I am glad to say a friend of my friend manage to get hold of 7 tickets in the same row!!! Wow... Speechless...

Photobucket
Before the concert started, the crowd was already sitting eagerly outside the stadium hours before we can enter.

I had to q for almost an hour to get some of the official merchandise but I didn't manage to get anything as most of the things are already sold out. They should have informed us instead of making us q under the sun. :(

Photobucket
A big stand board for all the fans to take photo with. As usual, super long q and I do realise I don't have the time to q for this.

Photobucket
Decide to q for something that I think I will manage to get. Samsung is the official sponser of the concert and they have prepared a lot of freebies for the fans while trying to promote their stuff.

Photobucket
Tattoos on my both my hands. The black tattoo is more lasting than the yellow one. Please forgive my hairy hands. Hehe...

Photobucket
Photobucket
I didn't manage to take any photos since I am not in the standing pit and I am not really sitting that close to the stage. I doubt the photos will turn out nice so I might as well not try taking. Sorry about that... Anyway, I realise I am not able to enjoy myself to the max during a concert if I am trying to take photos. I will be busy trying to get the best angles and not really watching the show.

Concert photos posted below are all taken from 'Live Nation'.

Photobucket
I took a photo of the stage before the show started. This is my first time attending a concert that has a T-shaped stage. Quite refreshing.

Photobucket
This is another photo of the stage after lights are down and the audience have all turn on the lotus shaped torchlight. It's a sea of yellow. Impressed!

Photobucket
While there is language barrier, I can feel that Bigbang quite their very best to interact with us. And we show them our very best by screaming and jumping through the whole concert. It was a fun and enjoyable night.

Somehow, watching this concert has inspired me to re-take up korean lesson again. I do hope one of these days, I am able to understand what they are talking and singing about. Wish me luck!

Paradise Inn @ Changi Airport Terminal 1

I have never tried Paradise Inn before and my cousin assured me that the food is nice over there. Since we were looking for a place to have our dinner and Paradise Inn was just right in front of us, it is too hard for me to say no to it.

Photobucket
We actually ordered quite a lot for just two girls. Haha... Both of us are greedy pig. 3 dishes plus 1 soup. It didn't sound too much when we were deciding what to eat but we kind of regret it when the food was served. There goes my dieting plan again.

Photobucket
There was this gold kettle with our tea. Interesting and a very chinese style food. Well, we are eating chinese food here after all.

Photobucket
Got a picture of the deco in the restaurant. Something we can't find in a western restaurant.

Photobucket
First up is the vegetable. A chinese meal is never complete without some kind of vegetable dish. We had this 'Poached Chinese Spinach with Egg Trio in Superior Stock'. Something different from the usual kind of chinese vegetable dish. It is soupy in nature and we can actually drink the soup.

Photobucket
Next up is my favourite dish - Tofu. I have been advised by my doctor to reduce bean product intake but I can never say no to tofu. Hot Plate Tofu with Preserved Cai Xin and Minced Pork

Photobucket
Next is our soup. Delicious but I can't remember the name of it. Hehe... Sorry about it... I can't seem to find the menu of Paradise Inn online. If anyone knows where I can locate the menu, do let me know. Tks.

Photobucket
Photobucket
Last but not the least is the prawn salad. Yummy yummy. I love it when the prawns are shelled. Hehe... I am too lazy to shell my own prawn. Given me a choice, I rather don't eat the prawn then shell it myself.

Photobucket
Here we go, two more pictures of all our food again.

Fruit Tarlets

After receiving the baby shower gift from my friend, I became interested in the idea of baking my own fruit tartlets too.

Sometimes, we have to face the fact that having an interest does not equal to being an excellent baker. I chose the next best alternative to ensure that my fruit tartlets will be edible at the very least. I went to attend a baking class conducted by ITSI Baking Studio.

It turned out that fruit tartlets is not difficult to bake. My main difficulty is the decorating of the fruit tartlets with the limited resources that were given to us. Well, I do have to admit that I am also not a very creative person, maybe even a bit boring. I simply have not much idea on how to make my fruit tartlets look nice and attractive.

Photobucket
These are the fruit tartlets made by all the students in the class. They do look very nice right?

Photobucket
Finally! These are the fruit tartlets baked and decorated by me!!! I am sure they are not the best fruit tartlets you have come across in your life but do give me some encouragement since this is my first time. :p

Taste wise, I just find it so so only... Delifrance fruit tartlets is always the best. I guess if I am in the mood for fruit tartlets, I will not hesitate to just go there and get one to satisfy the craving. After all, a Delifrance outlet has just open up across my house. How convenient! Hehe...

Baby Shower Fruit Tart

I have recently received a box of baby shower fruit tarts. This is certainly a more unique gift for baby shower as normally I will expect to receive some cakes or a cake voucher.
Photobucket
This fruit tarts are not like the normal fruit tarts that we can get from Delifrance (those are unbeatable in both presentation and taste). They are shaped more like a cupcake but it's simply a fruit tart with a thicker base than normal.

Taste wise, I have yet to try. I always felt that baby shower gifts usually look nicer than they taste. Hehehe... Definitely not in a hurry to finish up that box.

A Gentleman's Dignity

It has been a super long while since I last watched any korean drama. Well, at least half a year so that's considered long right? Hehe...
Photobucket
Once I started on this drama, 'A Gentleman's Dignity', I can't stop. I am just so super addicted to it. Maybe it's because I have not been watching korean for too long. The craving has always been there but I simply choose to ignore it. Once I start, I can't stop. Oops...

Watching this show has brought back some memories. Mature man can be very attractive still... Hehe...
Photobucket
When I was in secondary school, my friends are always teasing me about liking 'old man'. While, I don't really like 'old man'. I admire mature guys in their thirties. I guess when I was a teenage, man in their thirties are classified as 'old man'. Now that I am in my twenties, admiring man in their forties simply means that my taste in man didn't change much right? :p

Disclaimer: I do like guys in their twenties still...

Selfish iPad

I have finally come to the conclusion that I have gotten myself a selfish iPad. Why is that so?

When I first got my iPad, everything seem to be working fine. I had purchase the iPad with comes with wifi only. 3G seem too expensive at that time and I had convinced myself that I can leave with 3G. And I still believe that. Thank goodness!

One sudden day, my iPad that it's time for it to show me who is the boss. It refused to connect to my home wifi no matter how many times I restart my modem or my iPad. After what seem like three long terrible hours, it finally manage to connect and I have no idea what I did to make it work.

This situation happens again and again over time until one final day I finally discover the ANSWER! If I have another device connecting to my wifi, my iPad will not connect. If my iPad is already connected to my wifi, all other devices will not be able to connect. My iPad simply refuse to share the wifi with any other devices. Isn't it the most selfish fellow you have heard of? What's the use of setting up a wireless wifi network at home when only one device is able to connect to it at any one time?

Sadly, I am still unable to resolve this problem. I have no idea what is the problem causing this and no idea how to resolve it. I guess until I discover the solution, I simply need to live with just having a single device connecting to my wifi at any one time.

Well, the good news is that I will know if anyone is hacking to my network then. That is, if you are not a very good hacker yet. :p

Instant App Workshop (App Development Workshop)

Groupon has a lot of interesting deals that we can come across every now and then. I was attracted to this particular deal when I first saw it.

For just $25, you can learn to create an app for your iphone, ipad, and android phone. That sound like an attractive deal and think of the satifaction of being able to create an app for my phone instead of downloading one created by others.

The course lasted for 3hrs. Within half an hour, I was almost falling asleep.

Firstly, the course is held at an inconvenient location. It is held in an industrial building at Kembangan on a Sunday. Participants are required to bring their own laptop for the course. The classroom is too small and too packed with people. Even before the class start, I am already lowering my expectation for the standard of this course.

The instructor is not a good speaker. He did not seem to be able to hold the attention of the students for long, except for those who were determined to get their money worth.

The worst part of this course is, the so call creation of the app, is done via a webpage, free to public. If you are thinking of creating a game app or productivity app, you are in for a disappointment. All the instruction taught was to create an app fo a RSS feed. Actually I won't say he taught us to do it. Anyone who can read should be able to follow the instructions stated on the website and create the app easily all by themselves.

Don't think of asking too many questions. The instruction is not able to give a direct answer to most of the questions asked. It is fairly obvious that he is not able to answer questions that is not found in the faq of the website.

One important point to note is that the app created during the course, you actually can't download it to your phone at all. The best that you can do is only a preview of the app on the website that you use to create the app. To download the app to your phone, you will need to pay to create a developer account with itune. Submit the app to itune for review and if it is approved, you can then download it from itune.

Last but not the least, the instructor took sometime to explain this course that he is conducting which will help you to generate unlimited income. For just a low fee of $1,600, he will teach you how to create a game app. $1,600!!! I already felt that he had cheated me of my $25 for this course. Do I look like I am stupid enought to fork out $1,600 to attend his course again? Dream on!

If anyone is interested to create your own app, you can try it out at www.appmakr.com or http://hitzapps.com/.

Have fun at the website. You should be able to create your own app at NO COST at all.

Tokyo Banana

Tokyo Banana is one of my favourite food in the world. I am not exaggerating this fact or promoting this food for anyone but this is really something I will never say NO to. Everytime I step feet into Japan, the first thing that comes to my mind is I need to get my hand on this.
Photobucket
Tokyo Banana can be found in Tokyo. That's obvious right? Haha... A lot of tourist will not return home without a box of this. It can be commonly found in the shopping areas and of course, the airport. Other then Tokyo, you can also get this from most of the international airport in Japan but I can't promise on this.

Since this is so nice, you might be wondering why is this only found in Japan. While, it has a super short shelf live, usually about a week long to a few days. The one I bought in Tokyo has a shelf life of 9 days while the one I bought in Kyushu international airport has a shelf life of 5 days only. I guess they don't deliver this to Kyushu on a daily basis. LOL!
Photobucket
I ususally purchased the smaller box. It comes in pack of 8 pieces, all wrapped individually. A box will cost about S$15. It is really expensive for a bananan cake but who to blame except me. I simply can't resist this.
Photobucket
Tokyo Banana is actually a sponge cake with banana cream filling. It's soft and not too sweet. Once you start on it, you will just simply continuing popping one after another into your mouth. Well, you will need to exercise some self control over here. After all, it is not available in Singapore and it is really very expensive. You will start to feel the heart ache if you really finish up the whole box at one go.

My First Time!

I have been nagging to almost everyone I know that I should learn to bake but somehow it's all talk with no action. Most importantly, I have NO oven at home. So how am I suppose to bake without an oven. :p

I know, I know. This is just an execuse. There are also some no bake cakes or cookies available that I should be able to do. But what's the joy of making cookies and cakes when I can't bake them! Ok, ok... I am a girl that likes to talk more than taking action. Maybe that's why I am still a nobody today. Hai...

For a change finally. My friend invited me to her house for a baking session. Now now now, I can finally bake something! Yes!!! Finally!!!

I would have love to start my first baking session with something more normal. You know, something like chocolate chips cookies. As a matter of fact, my friend and I have totally different wave length. Haha... She felt that we should be doing something more exotic. Chocolate chips cookies are available everywhere and it's not like I can bake very nice chocolate chips cookies. Haha... Quite true... So here we end up with Earl Grey Tea Cookies.

Photobucket
Don't they look nice??!!! Hehe... I have to admit that I think they look nicer than they taste. Haha... But I will have to say it's really not bad for my first try!

The recipe is taken from Martha Stewart. Give it a try too if you are looking for some not so average type of cookies. Enjoy!

NYDC @ Novena Shopping Center

Photobucket
When ever I go NYDC, it always for their cakes. This time around, I have decided to have my lunch there for a change.

Photobucket
This is mushroom and ham baked rice ($13.50) ordered by my friend. Baked rice is not my favourite kind of food. Although I like cheese, I find baked rice simply too cheesy for me to finish it up.

Photobucket
I still stick to my same old safe choice of food, fish and chips ($15.80). Salad dressing is too sour for my taste. I rather they didn't put on the dressing. The serving is really too big for me. There is two pieces of fish and I couldn't finish it. I like the wedges that came with it. Usually fish and chips always comes with fries. Personally, I prefer wedges over fries.

Photobucket
I may be too full to finish the main course but how can I say no to dessert when I am at NYDC. After all, a girl always has a second stomach for dessert. I shared this cake, 'Boo Boo', with my friend. It is very rich in chocolate. WARNING to non-chocolate lover! Stay Away!
